Drum roll please … we are very pleased to announce another feather in our cap: we have been named one of Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday winners!
Known as #SBS, Small Business Sunday is a Twitter-based campaign launched by the famous Dragon’s Den entrepreneur which sees different businesses being chosen each week.
Like all the best ideas, this one is beautifully simple: every week Theo rewards certain businesses from the many that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet.
The tweets must be made within a strict timeframe on Sundays and all of that week’s entries are then whittled down to Theo’s favourite six, which he then announces on the social media platform.
With his half a million followers, it’s a big promotional boost to all the lucky businesses and we are thrilled that Infused Learning (@InfusedLearn) was recently among these haloed circles!
We were in complete shock to have been chosen by Theo, and offer our hearty congratulations to the other shortlisted companies during our week: @Beyondthekt, a website firm; @RayflexGroup, PVC manufacturers; @PLPersonalised, which make personalised gifts; graphic designers @isleofdesignuk and Somerset-based lemonade firm @hullaballoosrock.
A diverse range of businesses, as you can see, and there lies one of the beauties of Theo’s simple campaign: each of us winners are likely to retweet our victory to our own followers, thus increasing the reach of the rest of that week’s victors too: it’s such a brilliantly effective campaign and we are very proud to be a part of it.
Because at Infused Learning we make a point of embracing technology, and we find Twitter very useful for promoting ourselves and our work. We believe that social media platforms such as Twitter have the power to change the world by offering free opportunities to reach thousands of people at the touch of a button.
Many thanks to @TheoPaphitis for choosing us as one of his #SBS winners, and if anyone is reading this and fancies giving it a go, we say – go for it! You’ve got nothing to lose!
