Accelerating into the fast lane with top London accountancy firm Ernst & Young

We’re very proud of what we do at Infused Learning. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, our work is all about breaking down barriers to education and learning – but that doesn’t mean that we don’t need a helping hand ourselves sometimes.

That’s why we’re delighted to have been picked to be part of the Accelerate programme run by top London accountancy firm Ernst & Young. (https://www.ey.com/uk/en/about-us/corporate-responsibility/ey-foundation-accelerate#section3)

Ernst & Young is known as one of the “big four” accountancy firms and is one of the largest professional services firms in the world. Its charitable arm, the EY Foundation, has several strands and one of them is called the Accelerate programme, which offers worthy social enterprises 12 months of business support.

We were thrilled to have been chosen to take part in Accelerate, which represents a fantastic opportunity for Infused Learning to grow and develop the great work we’ve already started. As part of Accelerate, we are now benefiting from:

Business coaching, to help us increase our reach
Tailored workshops and webinars to help improve our strategy and planning
Networking events connecting us with other entrepreneurs through the EY Foundation
The chance to pitch for access to EY business expertise

In order to win our place on Accelerate, we did have to prove our credentials, in particular showing that we had a credible plan to grow Infused Learning, which would, in turn, create future employment opportunities for our students.

Because that’s what the EY Foundation is all about – helping today’s young people into employment, by providing opportunities. And that chimes in with what our work at Infused Learning is all about too – our founders Tara Askham and Natalie Sharpe experienced at first hand the difficulties in accessing education while juggling work and family commitments when they were younger, and the idea behind Infused Learning is to smoothe that pathway for the many, many other young people who may lack the funding and time to get to higher education and qualifications via a traditional route, but have the potential to flourish when given the chance through our tailored education programme.

We are so glad that EY Foundation’s Accelerate programme saw what we were trying to achieve, and have given us this chance to grow our work.
